Dubose was drafted No. 66 overall by the San Jose Earthquakes in 2014 after a standout career at Virginia Tech. Coaches at the MLS Combine described him as the fastest defender in college soccer. The right back most recently spent time with USL side Phoenix Rising in 2018, making 15 appearances as their squad won the Western Conference. Dubose has also featured in the past with Oklahoma City Energy in the USL, as well in the PDL for Midland/Odessa, San Jose Earthquakes U-23, FC Tucson and locally for Oakland-based CD Aguiluchos USA.
Dubose will wear the No. 67 as the club’s first ever signing. “I chose the No. 67 because for me it symbolizes reciprocating fear into positive energy” Said Devante. “Although a number is a number, 67 represents a fresh start with the vision of positive growth, which is the key to growth, and I intend to grow on and off the field. I can only hope when a kid let alone anyone who sees me with this number on my back see’s a dream chaser, and you never know, but the hope is always to spark the next dream.”
OAKLAND FIRST, ALWAYS.
